EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Volunteer Work. Tutoring. Community Service. School Clubs. Athletics. Apple Camp. Robotics Camp.
2010 – 2013:
When I was 5 years old, I started volunteering by working as the Creative Director of Secret Bear World (a virtual world game for children, similar to Webkinz and Club Penguin) because the company needed a game designer who knew what kind of gameplay that children would enjoy and play. It was my idea to develop Secret Bear World with charity built into its game design.
2012 – 2016:
When I was 7 years old, the LEGO Store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada asked me if I would be interested in building the demo LEGO sets for the store. Some of the LEGO sets that I built for the LEGO Store included the LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren Shuttle set.
2018:
When I was 14 years old, I volunteered to work as a Film Production Assistant with MX MOVIES. I learned a lot about the film industry and how much work it takes to film a TV series. My favorite work day was on set of the filming of the annual DC Arrowverse crossover event (The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl are teamed up for the event) at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
2020:
When I was 16 years old, I volunteered to work as a Film Liaison with MX MOVIES during the filming of the pilot episode Superman & Lois TV show at The Vancouver Sun newspaper office in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
********************
All of my volunteer work have been great experiences and I learned a lot in different industries (game development, retail and film industry) which prepared me for my application and acceptance into the Internship Program at MX MOVIES. This was for the role of Virtual Production Specialist and my job is to assist in designing purpose-built movie studio projects from the design/development phase through to the construction phase implemented with the latest film industry technology StageCraft (the technology used to film Star Wars’ The Mandalorian).

VOLUNTEER WORK
Film Liaison
I volunteered to work as a Film Liaison with MX MOVIES during the filming of the pilot episode of the Superman & Lois TV show at The Vancouver Sun newspaper office in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was very exciting to work on this film location as it was the Daily Planet for the Superman & Lois TV show, This was a learning experience in a very fast paced industry. Helped with showing the Vancouver Sun office film location to the location scout, the crew, etc. Attended the tech survey, etc.
Film Production Assistant
I started my volunteer work with MX MOVIES as a production assistant with their company. My first volunteer job was learning how film production works during the filming of the annual DC Arrowverse crossover event (The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl are teamed up for the event) at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
It was exciting to watch Grant Gustin as The Flash, Stephen Amell as the Green Arrow, Melissa Benoist as Supergirl and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman perform the scene in which it appears Superman Prime was trying to cause havoc by holding The Flash hostage outside of a building featuring the Superman logo. Eventually Arrow confronted him with his bow & arrow drawn, and Superman Prime let Barry go, before clapping his hands together, causing a massive boom behind the logo, stealing the mystery book.
Built demo LEGO sets for the store
When I was 7 years old, I was asked if I would be interested in building some of the demo LEGO sets for the LEGO Store in Vancouver. As a long time builder of LEGO, I said yes immediately. My favorite sets which I built for the LEGO Store are the Star Wars Kylo Ren Shuttle, etc.
Creative Director
Secret Bear World is a virtual world of bears where you can have fun playing cool games, making new friends, and buying virtual stuff for your bear. It was my idea to develop Secret Bear World with charity built into its game design. Secret Bear World is committed to helping the children of the world by donating to children’s cancer research in hopes that someday the world will find a cure for, or better yet, prevention to cancer, especially in children. We also supported the Make A Wish Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer.

SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULARS
Reconciliation Committee
To commemorate National Indigenous History Month 2021 and National Indigenous Peoples Day, Prince of Wales Secondary was honoured to host the unveiling of a custom designed canoe paddle by master carver, Chris Sparrow of the Musqueam Nation. Over the past year, Prince of Wales Secondary’s Reconciliation Committee led by Shauna Underwood worked very hard to create this beautiful artwork for the school’s front entrance. Much appreciation to Morgan Gueran for his presentation of how the canoe paddle has been engraved with a bear and a sturgeon which symbolize the resilience and strength of the Musqueam and Indigenous communities.
Community Service
Developing my community service role by pairing my individual strengths with teachers’ needs based on the course objectives and individual needs of both student and teacher. As a Community Service student, I assisted teachers to prepare for lessons through activities (such as preparing equipment or supplies, setting up labs, field trip preparation, creating bulletin boards and displays, conduct library research and other appropriate activities) and helping students having difficulty by providing assistance or clarification and reviewing lesson or assignment.
Academic Alliance
I created the Academic Alliance in Grade 11 as an academic initiative for students who are interested in enhancing their learning, developing study strategies and strengthening their connections with other students through engaging discussions based on their interests in a supportive online environment. Discussion topics may Include homework, course planning, managing stress, time management, presentation skills and research techniques. The objective of the Academic Alliance is to assist students in achieving academic and personal success by supporting their learning and growth into lifelong learners. By forming relationships and developing strategies, the Academic Alliance truly hopes that students will have fun, find some value, and enjoy their experience.
Success Club
As a co-founder of the Success Club, our objective was to assist students in achieving academic and personal success by supporting their learning and growth into lifelong learners. The Success Club exists to support students and encourage them to maximize their success at school by providing them with a place where they can complete homework and receive assistance with their classes while strengthening connections with their peers and developing lifelong strategies for success. We designed specially constructed activities for our weekly meetings to help students build their confidence in class, and at school in general. These activities will incorporate the core competencies in a fun, engaging way that will encourage members to work together and utilize their creative and critical thinking.
Ambassadors Club
The Ambassador Club is a school club consisting of student volunteers that assist in events both inside the school and outside of the school, organizing events such as the Parent-Teacher Walkabout Meeting and Immunization Clinic. Student Ambassadors provide school tours to parents and special guests, assist during special events and school sponsored activities, and participate in PAC activities. Sometimes other schools or organizations request help from the Ambassador Club.
Library Monitor
Volunteered as a Library Monitor in grades 6 to 7 at my elementary school, and continued volunteering as a Library Monitor in grades 8 to 12 in high school.
